Every 28 hours an African American is extrajudicially executed in the U.S.
April 24, 2013
Every 28 hours a black woman, man or child in the United States is executed by a person employed or protected by the US government according to a year-long investigation by the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement (MXGM), which has thus far been virtually ignored by the news media, progressive outlets included.
Following the murder of Trayvon Martin, the MXGM embarked on a year-long study to determine the prevalence of extrajudicial killings of black Americans. The organization initially recorded around 120 killings in the first half of 2012, which came out to one black person murdered every 36 hours. That number climbed to 313 by the end of last year, forcing the MXGM to update its findings to every 28 hours in their latest report, titled “Operation Ghetto Storm“. That’s almost one black American killed every day by law enforcement, security guards and/or vigilantes, which the MXGM believes is more accurate since their numbers reflect only those killings that are reported by police departments and the news media. As the organization points out in the report, there exists no national tracking of police-involved shootings, so it’s impossible to know the full extent of the crisis.
The largest portion of those killed in 2012 (40 percent) were between the ages of 22 to 31, followed by 18 to 21 year olds at 18 percent. Children made up 8 percent of extrajudicially executed black Americans.
Furthermore, 44 percent of those killed were unarmed while 27 percent were “allegedly” armed, meaning police claimed the victim was armed but no corroborating evidence existed to prove this was the case. Only 13 percent of those killed were said to have “fired a weapon either before or during the officer’s arrival”, according to the MXGM.
One of the report’s most damning findings is the sheer lack of accountability for these killings. Thus far, less than 9 percent of those responsible for the deaths have faced charges, almost all of whom are security guards or vigilantees and all of which have yet to be determined. Despite the fact that an overwhelming number of the victims were definitively unarmed, only 3 percent of officers officers responsible for the deaths have been charged: “3 for vehicular crimes stemming from their crashes, 5 for manslaughter—the killers of Remarley Graham, Wendell Allen, Dane Garrett Scott Jr, Christopher Brown, and Bobby Moore Jr.”
And the justifications are almost always the same: “I felt threatened”, “he reached for his waistband to get what I thought was a gun”, “he was acting suspiciously”, etc. All are based on personal perceptions that are no doubt influenced by racial stereotypes, given that every American is surrounded by a culture that conditions them to fear the “criminal black man”.This isn’t speculation. Study after study has confirmed the lethal consequences of the black-as-criminal stereotype.

This is too much. Where do I start? I’m not going to write an article on this. And I want to make this clear for the millionth time. I do not hate “white” people because they do not exist. It is a disease. A moral choice. And nearly all the people I know who identify with being “white” have serious issues. I also want you to know that WE know White Power is dying. The elite are having an apocalyptic nightmare and they are taking desperate actions to hold on to what they believe is divine power. (Hence Obama) The way I see it, the only hope that the aware human beings with descendants from Europe have is this: Educate your people. Organize them. Then we can collaborate as a human family and wipe imperialism off the face of the earth. Finally, I’m fed up. Being back in the south is pushing me. The privileged oligarchy here have the brain capacity of retarded mules - these are your University elites. So with that I’ll just say this: Fuck the Onion and all the aspiring “white” this includes blacks as well, I said aspiring - hipsters who read it. Fuck Colbert, Stewart, NPR, Sarah Silverman, Anderson Cooper, Artificial “White” Intellectualism, Urban Outfitters with Indigenous peoples for advertisements and abuse, CNN, MSNBC, The Democrats, The Republicans, The Green Party, The Undecided, 21st Century Music, Occupy anything, Liberalism, and New Hollywood. Fuck the Onion calling this beautiful child (who was terribly misused in a racist film) a “cunt” Fuck Feminism -which was always aimed at “White” Women’s Liberation. Fuck Plantation Academic House Negros like Cornel West. Fuck, Fuck, Fuck Obama. “We can all take the outcry over Rush Limbaugh calling Sandra Fluke a “slut” all the way to the White House, but a 9-year-old Black girl can’t even get the support of white feminists in 140 characters or less” What will it take for “white” youth to realize that the culture with which they live and thrive in is a culture not far removed from slavery, genocide, exploitation, and oppression of those who have purified it, with our blood? What will it take for them to read, investigate, and talk to us about such complexities? The world does not operate on their outrage alone, though they will tell you otherwise. What will it take for them to realize that their ancestors on somebody else’s land, have lived so comfortably, so secure, and so safe, watching everybody else on the earth die to enrich them? I have had all the bullshit from those people who call themselves “white”, that I can take. This is the 21st century and the “whites” who have been imprisoned, deformed, and poisoned by their ancestors still don’t get it. They are the ones who continue to walk through life in the dark, not us. They, like their ancestors, are the ones who are moral monsters, lost from the knowledge of themselves. Y’all need a John Brown. Tim Wise, Alex Jones, and Jane Fonda can’t do it alone.
“Part of the reason why so many blacks love [Quentin] Tarantino is because of his obvious nigger fetish. He loves the word nigger; he loves nigger women; he loves nigger movies, nigger music, and even wants to be a nigger (put Bill Maher in the same boat). And if there are two things black people love it’s a benevolent white man and to be commodified. We obviously see ourselves as these nigger caricatures and that’s why we support his films. But Quentin is no dummy. He knows his white privilege allows him to take everything from black culture including the paycheck, but not the burden.” - Omar Sankofa, Reading for Your Dear LIFE
I have had more than enough of my share of being called a bigot, a racist, an anti racist, a reverse racist, a black supremacist, an agitator, a contrarian, a controversialist, and a man full of hatred. If those of you that know me are sick of hearing about the constant race/sex/social/political/historical talk that consumes a very select few of us, then find a new friend or stop reading. Find a place in the world with those who choose live in the dark, against consciousness and humane principle. This is the world we were given. It’s foundation of stolen wealth, legacy, and history still shapes us. I am sorry. I was recently told that the colored people in this country have to stop blaming our current issues on the past and on indifferent “whites” trying to make it too. That we should all face up to our issues, our shortcomings. It is an old, old argumentative, guilt avoiding question. I have known blacks that felt the only way to “make it” was to be better than “whites” going to the best schools, working in the best firms, making the most money, in essence, becoming him in order to beat him. That’s a sickness that will no doubt destroy this man. I have known men from the reservation who have wandered into the cities and in the colleges and made it their mission to spread a locus of fear into every “Indian” class on campus. I was told it was racist to make jokes like the one today, about several white men jogging in the hurricane. That’s racist? I have been told it is racist to say jokes with a tinge of anger or bitterness. THAT’S RACIST?
Let me explain I have tried to explain before. People of color, especially artists react, through their reactions, they create. “Whites” who have been shaped by and benefit from a 500 year history, DO. They Do. We react. This is still the great price he has refused to acknowledged. The so called white american has refused to understand his travels into the so called new world. They have refused to look into the abyss of their actions and come through the other side, better. They have refused to understand why it was essential to create a “nigger” an “injun” a “wetback” or anything else non white. They have refused to understand the human cost of being white and in doing so will continue to forget that they have created in essence, a double prison. One, if a woman were to be whipped, naked in the middle of the street, we would all agree that that is a grotesque and shameful act, but as James Baldwin put it so long ago, “what it does to the man is worse” indeed it is. Two by taking a people’s language, cultural, and political clothing, you have elimnated the need for a jail, for they are in one and will inevitably end up in the physical one. That’s the way it was designed. Now I’m sorry there is no lens through which we can make it easier for countrymen and women to fully understand their country. I am sorry we have no institutions that will educate “whites” without hurting them or exposing them, and finally I am sorry that a great majority of them have been (despite all the uprisings, murders, boycotts, marches, lynchings, exiles, and imprisonments) kept in the dark about what our struggle has been all about.
That brings me to the Nina Simone controversy which is a shame on a great many levels, but then so are the biopics on the upcoming Jeff Buckley, Malcolm X, Che, and a dozen others whose lives and legacies can never be fully understood or appreciated by filmmakers in Hollywood. Kimberly Foster hit the mark in more ways than she realized when she wrote, “Perhaps you’re just trying to hold on to whatever you can to justify your decision, but no, Zoe, this is not reverse racism. Reverse racism doesn’t exist. Black women are not discriminating against you because you are a light-skinned woman. We are expressing our frustration at a racial hierarchy that renders us too unattractive even to represent ourselves. And if we’re being honest, you got this role, in part, because of the privilege you’ve been accorded as a light-skinned Afro-Latina” I’m not going to push that any further. I will end with this: People of color cannot be racists. It is impossible. (I can hear the friends I’ve argued with in the past screaming right now) I don’t care how you psychoanalyze it, it can’t be done. It does not exist. Racism is not a prejudiced mind set of taught values. It’s also about and defined by power. We do not have power. They do. We have not made the laws. They have. We did not write that Africans were 3/5 human and therefore not worth a damn, they did. We did not write laws prohibiting interracial marriage that was punishable by jail or death, they did. They did. They did. They do. We react. Some of us may react blindly, ignorantly, and irrationally but it is not racism. We have been shaped by it. You put Red, Brown, and Black people in power tomorrow and if they use their power to subjugate, terrorize, and imprison your religion, then you can call any of us who question and fight white supremacy, Racists. Can’t be done. Hasn’t happened. In Islamic Spain, the Africans, who were in power, did not destroy a single church. They did not burn the works of Aristotle. They embraced it. They preserved it. The Europeans defile things they do not understand.
My friends, racism is not simply hatred and bitterness (even justifiable cases) it’s power. It’s putting that hatred into action and making it law. It’s why “whites” live 12 years longer than us. It’s why the beautiful people in Pine Ridge have the lowest life expectancy in the country, 44 years old. We do not control institutions capable of keeping whites down. We don’t control their job opportunities, their loans, we do not control the housing, we did not create and indeed do not profit from the ghettos, we do not control the labor unions, the parks, the education, the contracting or anything else that has the power to ruin one’s life! You think apartheid is over? You think apartheid was what the fight was in South Africa? “Whites” still own 93% of the land there. The issues then as it is now…is about control of the resources! If we didn’t have lobotomized education in this country or human beings who are motivated by truth, you all would know this.
I have said before, that black pride, rainbow pride, etc…it has all been forced upon us, to survive, to reclaim. I am sorry that it is unfair to have white pride or white pride history month but you must realize that when “whites” have bonded, they have bonded (most of the time) with the intention of exterminating the natural world and all those who do not look like them for their own profit. I have no objection to “whites” having pride in the tribal communities of Europe, the Gauls are a great example of a people we should have pride in. The great revolutions of Europe have all been tied to economic power and in that power rested, white nationalism. France, Russia. I wonder will that be the bastard child of the miserable occupy wall st movement. Will today’s economically exploited “white” children fallen from the middle class turn to a form of communism to save their skin? To me it is irrelevant, as it should be to all of us who have to first reclaim our spiritual ancestral past to uplift us. It is also tragic that we have forgotten about the Young Patriots, a group of white, young radicals from the Appalachian region, who were ready to die for people of color in the sixties, who were intelligent enough to realize once they took economic struggle out the picture, they studied our colonization and realized we were fighting the same industrial ruling class system. This goes back to history here, when the elite made up their mind to sell us the race card, for fear the poor peasants would rebel with the natives and the Africans, (they were already having children and spreading out by the early 18th century. This is well documented. Those peasants had no concept of race. I’ve also said before, I’m for the John Browns of this world, the Young Patriots of this world. The “whites” who see whiteness for what it is, a mental disorder. I’m for those refuse to accept the terms of liberation given to us by the oppressors, it is absurd. I’m for the real education and discussion by all of us. I’m for those “whites” who look upon themselves as human liberators and saints and who have the patience and thick skin to understand that we are within our rights to use any tactic, any words, any programs necessary in securing our freedom. Reverse Racism is a European lie created by the elite to level the playing field for human rights. I will work with anybody and I mean ANYBODY who wants to overturn the parasitic, oppressive, miserable, medieval, and racist empire that exists on this earth.
Just some breakdowns (note: the data may change as the results are polished),
- 75% of all Latin@s voted for Obama
- 81% age 18-30 voted for Obama
- 78% of Central American origin voted for Obama
- 79% of Mexican origin voted for Obama
- 96% of Dominican@s voted for Obama [sheeeesh]
- 83% of Puerto Ricans voted for Obama
- 77% of all Latin@ women voted for Obama
- 80% of naturalized Latin@s voted for ObamaLatino voters were key in delivering battleground states. In Colorado, 87 percent of Latinos voted for Obama. In Ohio, it was 82 percent, and in Virginia, it was 66 percent. Strong Latino Democratic support also played a big factor in key Senate races. In Massachusetts, Obama got 89 percent of the Latino vote, and Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren received 86 percent of the Latino vote, “one of the decisive factors in putting her over the top,” according to Barreto.
From the same article,
At 23 percent, Governor Romney’s Latino support is dramatically lower than Bush’s support in 2004, and John McCain’s 31 percent Latino support.” ”Republicans have to evaluate what policy platforms they will be endorsing, and how they communicate with Latino voters,” says Barreto.
Analysts were throwing out 40% as the magical percentage that Mitt Romney needed from the Latin@ vote and to say the very least, he failed big time. The preliminary data make the Republican platform seem unsustainable moving forward but only if Democrats keep enthusiasm high amongst Latin@s (especially 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation Latin@s) moving forward and with the assumption that Republicans don’t alter their party platform to accommodate the growing Latin@ vote. Obviously it has been all talk and there will be studies that claim that the impact maybe wasn’t as big as the election night talk but there are at least some some preliminary figures that indicate that at least some of the speculation surrounding Latin@s finally “came to fruition”, as political scientist Matt Barreto of the University of Washington notes, where President Obama and Democrats needed them.
I also want to highlight that of the naturalized Latin@ voters, 80% voted for President and 81% voted for Democratic candidates in the House of Reps. That’s huge (even if the total number may be small) so Democrats (hint hint) in office and those of you reading this who identify as Democrats, y’all should pay attention or apply pressure or do something to sustain or increase those numbers moving forward and you know, not deport 1,000,000 and counting.
Now if you’ve made it this far, I salute you and listen to Mexican legend Vicente Fernandez performing the superb Dean Martin song Return to Me (Regresa A Mí) alongside the great Tony Bennett. It was meant to be.
Day 10 - Your favorite picture of Anthony
This is the most beautiful picture ever. It’s so intimate and passionate and you can see they really loved each other. The ‘one-boob’ is typical of AK’s photography and I love it, it’s so unique. I love Anthony’s long hair and his back piece is the best tattoo I’ve ever seen in my life. Ione looks really beautiful in this too. I’ts just the perfect photo.
